Today we are working on the Atelier Rwanda Workshop project and we are making materials to show the Workshop’s works on this wednesday.

Padiglione Rwanda project presentation

The Rwanda Pavillion’s will be held on wednesday 24 at Magazzino Ligabue 7, 2.5 room (second floor) at 11 a.m. and will be based on the following programme:

11.00AM Atélier Rwanda Workshop 2010 and the Participation to the Biennale (Gaddo Morpurgo)

11.30AM Projects for the Republic of Rwanda Pavillion: 90% vegetable fibres (Filippo Mastinu – students of Lab.otto, ClasDIP)

01.00PM Lunch break

02.30PM Made in Rwanda. Design and production of jewels in vegetable fibres (Alice Cappelli)

05.00PM Closing remarks

At ALIAS laboratory students are working on possible structures that will be built at the S.Marco center in Rwanda. The work on the bamboo structure is flanked by a group that deals with the design and construction of coffee wood hardware.

In the afternoon  the “Atelier Rwanda Workshop” project was presented to to students of the Faculty of Architecture.

The first hardware-wood coffee were produced at the ALIAS laboratory

the first tests on a 1:1 scale structures in bamboo were also constructed.

At ALlAS laboratory is still working from models and structures. Felix, Rwandan student at the Faculty of Architecture of Ferrara, interested in Atelier Rwanda, came to visit the laboratory to know the projects.

Selection for three resident-researchers in Rwanda

The Fondazione Claudio Buziol is organizing a selection of three designers who will be assigned a scholarship for resident-researchers in Rwanda, for a three-months period each. The research activities will take place in Kanombe – Kigali, Rwanda at the “San Marco” Centre d’Accueil e de Formation, from May 10th to September 24th 2010. The selection is open to graduates or undergraduates in design, architecture and fashion disciplines.

La Fondazione Claudio Buziol organizza una selezione per assegnare tre borse per ricercatori residenti in Rwanda per un periodo di tre mesi. Le attività di ricerca si svolgeranno dal 10 maggio al 24 settembre 2010 a Kanombe (Kigali), Rwanda, presso il Centre d’accueil e de formation “San Marco”. I posti sono riservati a laureati,  o laureandi, nelle discipline progettuali architettura, design e moda.
